The NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) states – Reading is one of the most important skills that young people can acquire and develop throughout their lives. Assessments are done every two years; 2017 will be out early 2018. But what we have learned between the assessment done in 2015 compared to 2013 is that our results are unchanged for the 4th grade point and lower for those of 8th grade. That is troubling news and we need to take action. Reading Head Start is a fabulous place to begin.
